Need a good low cost EMF/RF/EF meter ?
I bought a meter to test an EMF radiation blocking hat as well as other things.
I did not look too hard for a meter before coming across this one which seems a popular choice today. After exploring the many features it was clear why it is popular. The device has the ability for EMF/EF/RF metering. The EMF has X/Y/Z measurements for more accuracy, the RF detects up to 10 Ghz which is more than most will do at this price and will display spectrum analysis for frequencies of up to 3.5Ghz. To top it off it has data storage and convenient software to export data or chart in real time.
I will note only a few cons for which i feel are not valid given the full functionality and ability of the device compared to others.
I am not not sure if it is my USB bus or user error, but occasionally when you tick that button ‘Get spectrum Data’ for RF monitoring it does not always seem to be able to get that data. EMF/EF always presents an FFT pattern as seen here in the software on screen. The device has no problem displaying FFT for RF signals on its own display and that is our main mode of use for most of us as a portable device. The data fetch error might be because of a recent java update issue if Java is what supports it.
My second con which is unfair really is that fetching the real time data could be a bit faster, however that is unreasonable for a device this price and the amount of data it is fetching anyway. It already has impressive processing power in the device for the money and so really it is rather cool and offers features that no other device seems to touch at its price range.
We could go on, but really best to keep it simple for those average low cost users wanting to check towers, power lines, Phones, microwaves, etc. I will not that it beeps and gives both LED and written display identification of the danger levels and possible source of that radiation. Very smart. It will say Phone/power/microwave/Mixed/etc which is nice and easy for most. The danger threshold is adjustable in options
The hat passed for my requirements. At 3mw/m2 radiation the hat showed almost zero with the meter just inside it (0.001). As frequency increases in range towards 5ghz and upwards the ability of these EMF fabrics to block radiation becomes very limited due to the wave characteristic, However it does limit, and overall all combined radiation across the spectrum is far lower protecting ones head significantly. My tinnitus is now lessening a by reasonable amount and my cognitive ability seems a little better with focus improving mildly but noticeably.
Since the meter was a great tool i decide to add an affiliate link to share the product with others but also to take advantage of small contributions to the research being done here. So if you are going to but a meter and choose this one please support by using our button to their store below.
These guys also sell higher end meters and Geiger counters too. Check the store link below for their whole inventory. I might buy a Geiger counter at one point given the claims that some EMF blocking material and other EMF products such as pendants are radioactive to some disturbing levels. A few engineers testing some products for which the levels of radiation were detrimental to healthy significantly over the space of being exposed for just one year. Only a Geiger counter in ones own hand can verify these claims of course.
For those wishing to support us the usual way through ko-fi the button is here.
I have had the same meter for about 1 year and your comments nailed it and I see and feel the same way. Some glitches when using the software. Close out and reopen takes care of it. I love mine and still learning all the actual capabilities yet the all in one screen lets beginners go right out of the box. The ability to log data when sleeping and seeing the highs in the morning is key when suspecting foul play from minions and AI and satellites and outdoors etc
Karl, great review on the EMF detector. Given that I am intensely EMF sensitive, many times over the years I have considered buying one, but truth be told I always come to the same conclusion, that there is absolutely nothing I can do about the sources of radiation we are all embedded in 24/7. Although it would be nice to see the signals and have some idea where the worst offenders are. Additionally, I'd rather send the funds to people like you that know how to get the needed research done.
